The Second Avenue Construction Zone in New York City is the new Ground Zero — health and safety issues abound. Residents are concerned about particulates sprewing into the air from underground blasting, the traffic free for all that menaces pedestrians in particular, and the way our building quake when the blasts go off. Kathleen Brady, the author of books about Ida Tarbell and Lucille Ball, a former reporter for Time Magazine, and a guest columnist on New York City issues for Newsday and other local media, is the author of this site.
